Charlie Ponger, Luz Michelle, , Debbie Nigro

charlie ponger:

All right, everybody, so I got you know, Luz behaving like 90 or so right now, like, my grandmother not here. So

Debbie Nigro:

did you like your grandmother? Okay, when you remind what did you say? What

Luz Michelle:

did they say?

charlie ponger:

There was a dang,

Luz Michelle:

it was a thing. Yeah. Are you like Whose phone is Adams phone is and then it happens again and enjoy

Charlie Debbie:

my phone but I don't know what it is hi

Debbie Nigro:

everybody this is the official seebagers and these people on a Debbie Nigro. That's Charlie ponger. This is Luz Michelle. And our topic today is the advice in your head from other people that you hear every time you're doing the thing they told you gave you the advice about what do you got to Luz? Luz?

Luz Michelle:

Oh, man, that's all I do is advice in my head from yourself may sound something I read something that people recommended, right? It's always like, Hey, I should apply that positive thing that the face because I dislike that when I'm going through something and you reach out to someone and they're like, you gotta be positive. We gotta let it out. You got to know it's gonna pass and you're like, What the fuck? Are you talking about? Oil? Oh, no. Now, I want you to be in it with me. Be like, yeah, man, it sucks. I'm like, Yeah, died.

Debbie Nigro:

I don't want to say anything, but I'm always trying to give you positive shit. Do you not like that?

Luz Michelle:

No, I do. But like when you're in it in it around?

Charlie:

What do you mean, when you're in

Debbie Nigro:

it? Like she wants you to get gritty with her and stop being so fucking nice. And just like feel the pain. You're saying?

Luz Michelle:

Like, I'll say to my husband, Harrison. Like if I share something with him before I share it, I'll be like, I'm gonna say some I don't want you to give me any advice. I don't want you to read me a scripture. I don't want you to tell me a story, what you went through and you learned like, I just want to say what I have to say and what I'm going through and how I feel. And that's it. And that's very painful for a guy. That's a real big pain point for

Debbie Nigro:

us. You hear anything like in your head, like your mother or your father or a relative or a friend who gave you a tip that every time you're doing it like I only bring it up because this morning I had the same person in my head. And somebody told me how to swallow pills. I can't swallow a pill. Oh, hell, right. Hate them think I'm gonna die choke the whole thing. So she was a nurse. And actually a plastic surgery nurse. I got to use her. But she told me that I was doing it wrong. Instead of putting my head all the way back like you try and put a lot of words shove it. She goes, No, you're closing your throat. You got to put your head forward. And it opens up the thing and it goes right down to go along. I never thought of that. I'll be every time I take a pill. Every time I take a pill you ask. I put the bills in and I lean forward my chin down instead of back and it works. What do you

Charlie:

lean forward? Lean forward on your

Debbie Nigro:

asshole taking pills I talked about my heels Charlie. That's what I was talking about. Okay, good.

Luz Michelle:

I hate it. You do a crush it up. Why? Because I don't want to choke the debt like she just said right. Put your head gag reflex and I'm not ashamed of it. I have trouble cleaning my tongue. I have trouble taking pills. Yes, my husband is satisfied

Debbie Nigro:

man Oh yeah. So you ever choke everything you choke him by yourself in the house that's never relaxing. And so oh my god. No, I was taking some probiotics this week and I got one Danny's post take two but they're like the plastic outside and like to hear it so it's not going down right? Oh

Luz Michelle:

my God. Don't

Debbie Nigro:

relax. Just relax. Just relax. Just relax and try and get this put a little one little warm water like I can't go down this can't be the end too soon. I found a little trick little teaspoon of olive oil.

charlie ponger:

Is that because you're accustomed to olive oil because I psychological thing.

Debbie Nigro:

I want that sucker to slide down and get unhitch oh no problem taking pills. No. Okay,

Luz Michelle:

it's scary. I was on Dr. Oz like 15 years ago. And it was an episode about choking if you ever by yourself you post take the back of a chair and kind of like slam yourself into it like your chest and it'll pop out.

charlie ponger:

We really need a video so you get advice from who

Debbie Nigro:

know what's gonna You owe me. Guy let's talk about you what what advice is in your head? Yeah, what

Luz Michelle:

runs on in there? What goes on?

charlie ponger:

I get little guys running around. Exactly. Dr. Horse for scowl though. Okay, which I can't I don't know. I can't really share what he said to me. But I will say the worst doctor we're gonna go happen you signed. They called him horse for a reason. I called him the doctor because I don't even know why we would have to find out. And he was a guy that was like I loved everybody loved him, right. He's the reason why all across Gob says yeah, that's right. It's Dr. horse and he came up. He was like six four to 40 built like oh I guess maybe because he was like a horse. Yeah, he was definitely built like a horse. Right? Yeah. And he used to give me a relationship advice. And if I had listened to him, do you have any idea how much money I'd be worth today?

Debbie Nigro:

Yeah, you never took him. I just told

charlie ponger:

him. I just told a friend of mine about today about Well, here's the advice I got from Dr. Horse. They're calling him Dr. Horse. Well, of course, you know, everybody knew him was horse or Dr. Horse or the doctor.

Debbie Nigro:

Can you hear your mother in your head? Because I hear my mother every time I see there's clothes on the floor and or when I come home, she'll she always say, you, Jeff, you just hung it up the minute you took it off, there'd be nothing on the floor. No, you got that. That wasn't advice that was like, you could just hang it up if you just hang up your clothes, or you hear that all the time. Well, I'm always hanging stuff up. And you know kids are kids are messy. And your kids probably have messy rooms, right? Because they have to allow God they have to learn about that. Hang it up. Well, your mother and device I know you love

charlie ponger:

Oh, no, she was she would just call me Charlie boy, Charlie boy. Right. Everybody called me Charlie boy, because I was the third. Right? You think I'd have money? Charlie? The third? Yeah. Charles the third? No, but no, none of none. No, me. My ex father in law gave me advice that somebody burned me in a deal. And I said to him in this guy's like one of the loves in my life. He said to me, Charlie, you stop trusting people. You'll never do business again. I thought that was pretty cool. Right? And this guy could

Luz Michelle:

have. Yeah, that's good advice. Yeah.

Debbie Nigro:

As you're talking, I'm hearing my mother say a lot of fresh parsley, a lot of fresh course.

charlie ponger:

So really, she's really in your head.

Debbie Nigro:

And my mother was was a great cook. But she also was a very authoritarian mother. She had a lot of rules. And she was always right. And I was always wrong. And she always had told me to do things and I was like, unbeliever you lose. What do you got?

Luz Michelle:

I don't know. I don't know about advice. So much was more like my father used to call me a moron a lot. So in my life now like I'll be like, Are you being a moron? Yeah, I guess it's more on move. smart decision.

charlie ponger:

What he was saying out of kindness in his heart

Luz Michelle:

say it whether it was kind mean love, it was always more on Oh, more and I love you. And I was like, alright, well, that's nice. You know, great job.

Debbie Nigro:

I got something funny. My father when I was young, he everybody drove before they were legally age to drive in the My Italian house. Oh, my. My father had a bad leg. He had a construction company. He you know, we learned to drive I learned to drive in a garbage dump. By the way we'll talk a garbage truck a garbage dump. Oh, you drive in a garbage dump? No shit. It was it was at office was it was a garden? Yeah, get in there and go crush into other garbage crush cars, whatever. So he would drive home and he'd always get to a lane and just turn now he goes beat the light beat the light beat the light. I'd be like, you can't beat the light. What kind of driving instructor is this? Like, every time I come to a light now I'm thinking I gotta stop. And I hear I'm going beat.

charlie ponger:

Oh my gosh, that reminds me. It reminds me of the first time I literally ever drove Yeah. They're doing a construction job down and you know, putting lights up in a baseball field. And then there's this big truck. And it's a gear truck and the whole thing was shifter. And my old manuals me get in the truck and go to the denona I'm like, I get that God damn. I literally got in that truck. I was sweating. And I drove from granites to Stanford and back first time I'd ever driven in my life with a stick shift. I'm like, oh, you know, Herky jerky the whole time. And I did it. And that was like, yeah, it was really not nice. Getting the deal must have been laughing his ass off.

Luz Michelle:

Yeah. Did you do though?

charlie ponger:

I don't think I did very well. I probably beat the crap out of that clutch. I just remember, the truck was on the ball field. And I got in that truck out of fear that I was gonna get my ass kicked. So I got in and just started driving the friggin truck. Lani

Debbie Nigro:

rang. So do we give advice to your children? What advice do you try and give them that you think you know what you're talking about?

charlie ponger:

My kid well, first of all, my son in laws they don't listen anything I say Right. So I don't even give them advice anymore. But my daughter's The only thing I ever said to them growing up was you can be whatever you want in life. Don't let anybody tell you you can't be something because you could do it ever you want and that. They remember that and they ring that rings true to them beautifully. Even now. Yeah.

Luz Michelle:

Lose. Get advice for your kids. Yeah, since they were born. I always tell them the only thing you have to worry about in life is knowing who you are. Know who you are. Sure if you know who you are, you will make good decisions and life you will have good people in your life.

Debbie Nigro:

Yeah, that's the only thing I can say as terms of parental leave. Yeah, there's the one thing I've learned from becoming a parent giving advice. And remembering the advice is they didn't know what they were doing either. Yeah, right. Right. That's right. Right. There. Every every parent is just punting there all the time. Yeah. And you try and you're the straight face and you hoping that nothing bad happens. I love that line of punting everywhere all the time, your parents didn't know what they were doing, either. That's when you become old enough to realize that. We're figuring

Luz Michelle:

it out. There's no book. There's nothing anyone can teach you. You have to learn as you do. Yeah, that's right. You learn as you go. And then and you don't want to

charlie ponger:

hear it from the parents. Oh.

Debbie Nigro:

The one thing I do notice that I made that mistake. Yeah, kids do. Listen, if you talk really? Right. They talk really low and really slow. Yeah, per minute.

charlie ponger:

And then what happens loose?

Debbie Nigro:

I'd love advice. All right. Well, hopefully you learned that you're not so different than us.

charlie ponger:

Do the same right? Being together

Debbie Nigro:

today. This was fun.

Luz Michelle:

That was fun. We had a lot of fun. A lot of fun. All right, you

charlie ponger:

guys. Thank you so much for listening, the official teenagers. Go sign up for the email. I promise. It's painless, and you'll really enjoy it. Okay,

Debbie Nigro:

a little insight into just as talking like you probably talk to your friends about just trying to get through life. Yeah, and, man, don't laugh at yourself. Oh, my God is not gonna be fun. Gotta

charlie ponger:

laugh and share, share. Smile, see you later.

Luz Michelle:

Bye.
